About Derek

Derek studied marketing at BYU before he ever thought about healthcare. What his degree didn't teach him, twenty-one nieces and nephews did: how to explain complicated things to the people you love without making them feel small.

He now uses both skills to help people compare Medicare options. Every client gets treated the way he'd want an aunt or grandparent treated — which mostly means slowing down until every question actually gets a full answer.

In their own words

Why I became a Medicare Caddie

"I want people to leave a Medicare conversation feeling smarter, not sold to. Family gets that treatment. So should everyone else."

My approach

How I work with clients

Family pace. Every doctor stays on the list, every prescription gets checked against the formulary, every question gets a real answer.

Who I love helping

The people I do my best work for

People turning 65 who don't have a family member in insurance to translate for them.

Favorite part of the job

What keeps me coming back

Telling someone their doctor is in-network and watching their shoulders drop.

Fun fact

A little about Derek off the clock

Marketing degree from BYU and an unofficial minor in babysitting — 21+ nieces and nephews will do that to you.

🏌️ Derek's Caddie's Tip

"Before you look at premiums, write down every doctor and prescription you don't want to lose. That list is the real starting point."
